A beautifull tabby Brandberg,8.3 cm
long,2.75 wide and 1.5 deep.It has a light
Lavender coloration throughout,with
slightly darker wispy purple phantoms in
the upper three-fourths of the crystal. The
bottom fourth of the stone is somewhat
milky,but more wispy than milky;almost
like gas phantoms. There is a small .75 cm
crystal which protrudes from the left side,
about a third of the way up from the
bottom. There is a slight band of Smoky color
toward the top of the milky portion, and the
internal workings are very intricate with a
profusion of chambers. There may be some
small bubbles in this one though I have'nt
looked that closely at it.In fact I would be
rather surprised if there were none!Tabbies
are quite unusual in the Brandberg lot and
this one is a real stunner. It is clear, sharp, and
nearly pristine;the only damage is a slight
chip to the back side of the termination,
probably incurred during mining.Some would
call this one a DT as well because there are
partial faces on the bottom end,and it is
completely self-healed.The pictures don't
come close on this one.
Item BB1........$125.00.......Now $ 95.00 !!!!!!!!!
This is the rarest of the Brandbergs,a
wonderfully-colored Citrine shaft with a
dark-brown to blackish head.There was
a very small pocket of these scepters
found about six years ago;I have personally
seen four other examples, three larger and
one smaller. All were in the possesion of
a mineral dealer that I met at a rock show
five years ago.I had been lucky enough to
purchase my specimen directly from a
reputable dealer in Namibia,Africa. It is very
difficult to say what gives the head the
darker coloration,but I suspect finely-
packed microscopic Schorl crystals,though I
may be completely off-track.In this fine
example there is one larger shaft of
tourmaline which hangs downward from
the head into the shaft. However, even with
strong backlighting it is difficult to make out
any crystal-forms within the head.The
shaft is a beautifull golden Citrine, and is
very clear. The bottom as well as the contact
area on the shaft are completely self-
healed. There are a few small Tourmaline
needles near the bottom of the shaft,
which are quite visible. This is truly a
very unique,once-in-a-lifetime specimen.
If it does not sell,I will be perfectly happy
to keep it in my personal collection.
6.75 cm long,2.2 cm wide and 1.5 cm deep.
Item BB2......$975.00..........Now 650.00 !!!!!!!!!
This is a strange piece for a Brandberg;it
appears to be a stack of DT crystals at
first glance, but on closer inspection you
can see that the crystals are completely
intergrown!A very bright,shiny finish is
evident,as is typical of most Brandbergs.
There is a milky spot in the center of the
mass, and on the backside there appears
to be a point of attachment.Once again,
however,looks can be deceiving.On closer
inspection,it appears to be an old blow-
out crater that has recrystallized and
healed!This is a very beautifull,mystical
specimen which was very difficult to
photograph.The pictures do not show
the clarity of the stone, and amplify some
very slight Smoky zones in the piece
that are in reality very hard to find.Excellent
piece,great presence.10 cm long,3.8 cm
wide,and2.5 cm deep.
Item BB3........$140.00 .........Now $ 100.00 !!!!!!!!!
